Living Faith Discussion Bible Studies
Living Faith is an ideal resource for small groups, families, and individuals.
Living Faith is Christian believers encouraging one another, teaching one another, praying for each other, and loving one another.
Each Living Faith Discussion Bible Study guide consists of several short passages of Scripture, along with a few explanatory notes, followed by some discussion questions.
Some of the questions prompt believers to dig a little deeper in understanding God’s Word.
Some of the questions prompt believers to apply the Scriptures to our personal lives.
Living Faith is a group of believers, with the Holy Spirit in their hearts and open Bibles in hand, teaching one another by working through the Living Faith study guide together.
“Let’s consider how to encourage one anotherin love and good deeds.” ( Hebrews 10:24 )
“Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another.” ( Colossians 3:16 )
NOT A CLASS
Living Faith is a “one another” discussion Bible study. Living Faith meetings should be informal and interactive. Participants should sit facing each other, not facing a single teacher or leader. There is no “audience” at a Living Faith study — everyone encourages and teaches one another.
NO TEACHER REQUIRED
Living Faith Discussion Bible Studies do not require a trained pastor or teacher. Group members teach one another. The Living Faith study guide provides the format and outline to guide the meeting.
NO PREPARATION REQUIRED
Living Faith study guides provide everything needed for a productive group meeting: some Scriptures, a few explanatory notes, some discussion questions, and some references to find answers. The group simply works through the study guide together.
NO CHURCH BUILDING REQUIRED
Living Faith Bible studies can meet in churches, homes, wherever a small group of people can sit in a circle and talk. Jesus promised that He will show up wherever two or more believers are gathered in His name.
Why Living Faith?
The NT repeatedly commands us to have a “one another” faith. We are instructed to love one another, have fellowship with one another, encourage one another, teach one another, admonish one another, care for one another, etc.
In other words, according to the Bible, highly interactive small group fellowship is an essential element of the Christian life.
Living Faith: The Future
All Living Faith Discussion Bible Studies have been written by JoshuaOne teacher-director Terry Hull. Terry has been leading weekly small group Bible study groups for more than 50 years, ever since he was a teenager. Terry & Norma Hull lead a Living Faith home meeting in Edmond, Oklahoma, that has been meeting for more than 20 years.
Terry began developing Living Faith Discussion Bible Study guides in 2018. He has now written about 225 discussion guides covering 16 books of the Bible and about 20 Bible topics.
As the number of churches in the U.S. continues to decline, and as the ministries our churches are able to offer also decline, small group fellowship will become more important than ever. Living Faith Discussion Bible Study guides will make it easier to do.
Several churches and groups have already been using Living Faith study guides. In 2026, we hope to begin publishing Living Faith studies to make them widely available.
Our first Living Faith publication will be a series of discussion Bible studies in three volumes covering the Gospel of John.
